River lane is a cosy café based in the heart of Finsbury Park. We serve fresh food, specially blended coffee from Pact, cakes, fresh pressed juices and pastries. Our ethos is to bring the community together through delicious food and coffee. That’s why we’ve created a menu that caters to all, serving meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan options. We aim to support other local businesses and work sustainably so our menu is seasonal.

Found this cafe accidentally when walked with a friend at Finsbury park. We were dying for coffee. The … More coffee was soooo good. We both liked it. The second time I came here alone, tried one of their snacks. It's so well presented and they warmed it up for me. The ambiance is nice and the staff are friendly.

Our story
We’ve been residents in Finsbury Park for the past 20 years. We’ve always wanted to share our passion for coffee with the local residents and visitors of Finsbury Park and we’re finally able to with our Cafe. Buying local produce and working with other local independent businesses is extremely important for us and the continued development of Finsbury Park. Therefore, we’ve teamed up with other local businesses to create a delicious coffee blend and an amazing food menu.
Our name
The Hackney Brook River flowed from Holloway, through Blackstock Road and emptied into the River Lea at Hackney Wick. During this time, Blackstock Road was called ‘Boarded River Lane’ giving us our name, ‘River Lane’.
